Frequently Asked Questions

Hopefully you will find the answer to your questions here. If not, please do not hesitate to contact us.

When do bookings open?
Registration for 2024’s event opens at 7PM on Monday 17th June. Show tickets are sold by Arena Theatre from 1st August.

How many people are in each workshop?
All a la carte workshops with Ebony, Dominika, Tevec and Alexis are capped at 50 participants (though there may be fewer in each class depending on the number of bookings we have received).

Can I book without using Eventbrite?
Sorry, but we require all of the bookings for the a la carte workshops to go via Eventbrite. We expect a massive amount of demand for this year’s workshops and so it’s impossible for us to take bookings outside of that system without possible errors occuring with overselling workshops. You do not need a Paypal account to complete your transaction through Eventbrite, though it is helpful if you do.

Will the workshops sell out?
It is highly likely that this year’s workshops will sell out quickly. We recommend being ready to book when tickets go live and booking the workshops you would be devastated if you missed first, in order to avoid disappointment. To expedite your transaction and avoid losing your spot to others that are faster at checkout, we recommend creating an Eventbrite account in advance of booking opening and signing in before the event goes live. That way your information is already stored and you can clear checkout quickly.

Can I perform?
We are accepting applications to perform, and your application will be considered as submission to both the theatre show at Arena Theatre, and at our Glitterball Shakedown After Party show at Newhampton Arts Centre Theatre. Each show is lightly curated to allow for variety across shows – just because you have performed at the theatre show in the past does not guarantee you will be chosen this year, to give other artists the opportunity to share their work. The after party show has had many professional dancers performing at it, so please do not think this is the ‘inferior’ show – you are more likely to be watched by our teachers at this one! We have a strict application process for performing, which will open the same day as the weekend workshops go on sale. Even if you apply, you are not guaranteed to get a performance opportunity during the weekend, and we expect demand for performances to be high. We cannot guarantee any performance slots regardless of how far you travel or how many workshops you book. We apologise for any disappointment this may cause as it is unlikely we will be able to accommodate everyone. Workshops must be booked prior to applying for a performance slot (a minimum of one workshop). Those without a workshop booking will only be considered if we have performance slots available.

What happens if I test positive for Covid-19 before the event? Can I get a refund?
We are unable to offer a refund if you test positive for Covid-19 before coming to the event. You are strongly advised to take out appropriate travel insurance for your trip, which includes Covid cover. If you are unable to attend we will do our best to help you sell your workshops. This is in line with our terms and conditions that we cannot offer refunds for illness, travel delays and cancellations, visa refusals, acts of god, weather and anything else that is out of our control. We only offer refunds in the event of the cancellation of the festival.

We will always follow the guidelines in relation to Covid set out by the UK government at the time of the event. If the UK goes into another lockdown and we are forced to postpone the event, we will first offer transfers to the rescheduled date. If you cannot make the new date, we will provide a refund.  The current guidelines in the UK are that everything can now operate as normal with no requirements for testing or isolating. Your home country might have different guidelines and requirements. We recommend to check what requirements your and the UK government and your airlines have with regards to travel based on your vaccination status, and to keep checking as requirements change regularly. You are responsible for obtaining all the necessary documentation and testing required by your/the UK government and your airline.

What Covid measures do you have in place?
We will provide hand sanitiser for use by participants at each workshop. You are welcome to wear a face mask during classes if this makes you feel safe, but we will not be enforcing their use during any part of the festival unless the UK government impose a mask mandate. Please respect other people’s decisions to wear a face mask, or not, regardless of your personal beliefs about their use.

Will there be merchandise at the event?
Merchandise can be bought in advance from our Spreadshirt store. We may have a small amount of merch available at the registration desk. We aim to have a merchanside area where you can purchase from vendors but we are still working on this at the moment. It is likely some teachers will have merchandise available.

Can I take a photo with the teachers?
Photos are at the discretion of the teacher. Please respect their decision if they decline. There is not much time to transfer between each workshop so we cannot allow them to be held up for photos.
