We are delighted to present four teachers as part of our 12th Infusion Emporium festival weekend.

Friday 18th October
6-8PM – Ebony – The Bellydance Wildcard (EQ1)
Let’s play with versatility. Express your varied dance roots by exploring the delicate art of unexpected fusion in a way that is tasteful, respectful and fun. Learn how strong technique and fluidity can create a harmonious balance between genres. Drill combos that introduce samba, popping or other styles into belly dance. Practice reacting to music and embracing contrasts: graceful vs. clunky, speedy vs. slow. Dance shoes recommended, but not required.

Saturday 19th October
10-1 – Ebony – All Levels Drills & Technique Class (EQ2) – only 10 left!
Drill basic undulations, accents and shimmies in this super sweaty drills class with an emphasis on isolating these movements while receiving individual feedback from Ebony. Kick it up a notch with layering exercises and traveling steps to inspire your own combos. Dance shoes recommended, but not required.

1:30-3:30 – Dominika Suchecka – Tarab Lab (DS1)
During this workshop Dominika will share with you techniques, tips and ideas on her absolute favourite part of bellydance – dancing to classical tarab songs! We will use snippets of Dominika’s choreographies to use our tarab-skills in practice and as an illustration of tarab music interpretation. However the main goal of this workshop will be for you to feel more comfortable and free in your own improvisations and choreographies to tarab songs in the future.

4-5 – Alexis Southall – A Whistlestop Guide to Musicality for Fusion Bellydance (AS1) – only 10 left!
Part lecture, part dance class. Alexis will guide you through the key components of electronic music fusion dancers gravitate towards, help you train your ear to hear the individual sounds that make up a track, and get you thinking about how to translate those sounds into movement.

Sunday 20th October
10-12 – Tevec – Vintage Turkish (TI1) – only 13 left!
A super popular topic and favourite among students. Explore vintage Turkish music inspired by the Turkish dancers of the past. Floorwork included but optional. Bring knee pads or a towel/mat for comfort.

12:30-2:30 – Dominika Suchecka – Whirling & Exciting Turns Usage in Fusion Bellydance (DS2) – only 5 left!
Take a deep dive into the world of Dominika’s signature turns & spins that will enrich your bellydance and fusion bellydance show!
During this workshop Dominika will outline the history and role of whirling dances in the Middle East for the context, explain the proper posture and share different technical tips for practicing and executing mesmerizing turns on stage.
Apart from lots of techniques and practical exercises that will help you keep your balance while executing your single and multiple turns, Dominika will also share with you ways and benefits of incorporating whirling into your daily practice as well as tips about how you can stylise your turns according to the style of bellydance you are performing in.

2:45-5:45 – Ebony – Joyful Movement Experience (EQ3) – only 9 left!
Let’s tap into having fun and feeling good by practicing a unique spin on contemporary belly dance. We’ll play with combinations which fuse modern urban styles found in hip hop, retro funk styles such as locking, and the timeless art of raqs sharqi. Let’s build coordination, work on isolating movements, and expand our dance styles with fun travel steps. This workshop will be high energy, prepare to sweat and have fun. Dance shoes recommended, but not required.
