Who we are...
When Alexis Southall began producing her first event in 2011, she never believed that it would grow to become the biggest fusion bellydance festival in the UK.
Her first event took place in April 2011, hosting Samantha Emanuel (UK) and Manca Pavli (SLO) for workshops and a theatre show called ‘Bellydance Vaudeville’, choosing to host an event purely because she was fed up of constantly travelling in order to take workshops with her idols. After its sell out success, she hosted the first Infusion Emporium in November of that same year, featuring a weekend intensive taught by Alexis & another local dancer named Bex, alongside a theatre show starring students taking the intensive.
Infusion Emporium has since grown to host some of the biggest names in Fusion Bellydance, and quickly developed from a small theatre show to a large scale production with international instructors and performers. 2012 saw the very first interest from students outside of the UK, and IE has continued to attract participants from all over Europe, and as far afield as Japan, Canada, USA and Mexico.
We choose our teachers not based on hype, but on who we believe to be top educators and experts in their field, and who will truly enrich the learning experience for our attendees.
Our aim is to promote home-grown and international talent via professional theatre shows, and to provide world class training opportunities to the next generation of performers and teachers.
Meet the Team
Alexis Southall
Alexis is an internationally recognised instructor, choreographer and performer of fusion bellydance. She has been contributing to the UK bellydance community since 2006 and has had a key role in the development of the style in the UK. She is seen as a community figurehead and has had a hand in the development of some of the top fusion bellydancers in the country.
She runs Juniper Dance & Fitness school in Wolverhampton, where she provides bellydance and fitness classes as well as Online Class training through her own platform. Producing Infusion Emporium feeds her need to organise things throughout the year!
Dan Fullard
Dan is Alexis’ partner in crime, as well as her husband. He enjoys involving himself in various aspects of the organisation of IE events, such as promotion design, as well as leading on the Glitterball Shakedown after party.
Dan has a passion for photography and can often be found capturing shots of the performers as he watches over the music desk!
